Phoenix Mountain, a small British Columbia ski area, recently announced on social media that it has closed for the season.

Like several other ski areas in the province, Phoenix Mountain struggled with challenging conditions season-long.

"Despite having some weird weather this winter, we are so thankful for all of your support all season long," the ski area wrote on Facebook.

Phoenix Mountain plans to reopen in December 2024.

The ski area officially concluded operations on March 23rd, which saw fresh snow and the Dummy Downhill—an event in which skiers launch their artistic creations off a jump.

Phoenix Mountain refers to itself as the "best little mountain in BC." It's an apt descriptor. The ski area boasts two surface lifts, a handful of marked runs, and 800 feet of vertical.

While you won't find big mountain terrain offered by the likes of, say, Whistler Blackcomb, you'll surely encounter plenty of dedicated skiers at Phoenix Mountain. Humble ski areas tend to draw those who are truly committed to the sport.

Here's to next winter delivering Phoenix Mountain the goods.

Phoenix Mountain Resort Stats:

Vertical: 800 ft.

Lifts: 2

Trails: 15
