After a slow start to Sunday's game, Denver Broncos quarterback Jarrett Stidham is starting to find his rhythm and build some confidence against the Los Angeles Chargers.
On a third-and-8 at the Denver 46-yard line, Stidham scrambled to his right and fired a quick pass to wide receiver Lil' Jordan Humphrey, who took it to the house for a 54-yard touchdown, giving the Broncos a 10-3 lead with 6:37 remaining in the second quarter. Humphrey deserves credit for picking up yards after the catch.
What a play.

On Wednesday, the Broncos confirmed they were benching starting QB Russell Wilson. While head coach Sean Payton claimed it's a football move, it's a financial one. The former Pro Bowler is in the second year of a five-year, $242.5M deal and his 2025 salary ($37M) becomes fully guaranteed if he's still on the roster on the fifth day of the league year in 2024.
Denver (7-8) needs Stidham – who has a two-year, $10M contract – to emerge as a viable starter since the franchise will probably move on from Wilson this offseason. Through two quarters against the Chargers, the former fourth-round pick has completed 9-of-18 passes for 110 yards.
