The Chicago Bears are already getting started with their 2024 free agency, as they have made a few moves, and now two more that are a bit surprising.
However, when you break down the two moves, they are beneficial for both sides.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Bears are releasing former Pro Bowl guard Cody Whitehair, giving him the opportunity to sign with another team before free agency starts.
Whitehair spent the last eight seasons with the Bears. Releasing him now, before June 1, will save the Bears $9 million in cap Space, according to Over the Cap.
Whitehair will not have an issue finding a new team, as he is experienced and still has some juice left in the tank at just 32 years old.
