Denny Hamlin claims Kevin Harvick taking over Kyle Larson’s car for All-Star race practice is a 'golden PR' move

Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson recently revealed that NASCAR Hall of Famer Kevin Harvick will be taking over his Chevrolet Camaro during practice sessions in North Wikelsborogh, for the NASCAR All-Star race. The move will see a NASCAR legend coming back to drive and is something fans are hugely excited about.

This is because Larson needs some time to practice driving IndyCars ahead of his debut in the category on May 26. This decision from Kyle Larson and Kevin Harvick has generated a lot of talk about it. Following this announcement, Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin shares his thoughts about the move on his podcast, ” The Action Detrimental”.

No. 11 Toyota Camry XSE driver added how this decision to put a NASCAR legend back in the car is something that is a goldmine for PR opportunities for Henrick Motorsport. Overall, Hamlin added how he thinks it’s the right move, as Larson does need some time to practice driving IndyCar.

Great job making sure that 5 car is definitely going to be a focal point of what we’re talking about during practice and qualifying because you’ve got Kevin Harvick in that car. Kevin Harvick reveals why he agreed to come back to NASCAR after retirement

Kevin Harvick retired from NASCAR back in 2023. The driver amassed over 50 Cup series wins in the category and finished his career by having the 10th most all-time wins in the sport. He retired from the sport as one of the greats and no one expected him to come back to it so soon.

But, with the recent announcement of a comeback for the All-Star Race replacing Kyle Larson, he was asked about his quick return to the sport. The 48-year-old then revealed why he agreed to come back to NASCAR so quickly after retirement.

When Rick called a couple of days ago, he said, ‘Hey, I need a favor,’ and I know when the conversation starts like that, that usually you have to say yes. So, I appreciate you guys calling. It’s going to be fun. Kevin Harvick said.

The Ex Steward Haas Racing driver revealed how when someone like Rick Hendrick calls them, they have to just agree and say yes. Fans of the brilliant driver will surely be excited to see him race in May as it does seem to be one last ride in NASCAR.
