On3 ranked their top 25 corners through the first few games of the college football season, and they had Auburn corner DJ James ninth on the list.
When it comes to the SEC, James was only behind Kool-Aid McKinstry of Alabama and Kris Abrams-Draine of Missouri, meaning he is the third-best corner in the SEC.
James has a 77.6 PFF grade so far on the season and a coverage grade of 81.6, showing you why he will be such a good corner at the next level.
Speaking of the next level, James will likely be a day two pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and could be the first Tigers off the board this year.
James has already drawn some challenging assignments covering some of the best receivers in the SEC early into conference play and looked really good.
It's safe to say when James is guarding a receiver, the opposing offense has to avoid him, or he will either deflect or intercept the pass.
If Auburn wants to get to seven wins this season, James will need to continue playing at this high level for the rest of the year.
